macro8n Terms of Use

These terms describe the technical conditions for using the macro8n application and related content. Before the first workflow run, the app requests explicit acceptance of this version and stores the accepted version and timestamp locally. Use the application responsibly and in accordance with applicable laws and third-party rights.

1. Application and local data

macro8n is a visual automation application that runs workflows on the user's computer, including mouse, keyboard, screen capture and reading, file, and configured integration actions. Project files are portable ZIP archives and anyone with access to a file can read its contents; do not put passwords, tokens, or API keys in ordinary project fields. Credentials stored in the operating system's secure credential store are separate and are not included in project files. Projects are kept locally by default; the app has no project-capture or project-sample upload feature. Users must protect their devices, review each workflow, and choose the application or service that will be active before running automation.

The source code is distributed under Apache-2.0, as described in the license file and notices included with the distribution. Dependencies and third-party services may have separate terms.

2. Permitted use

You are responsible for the workflows you create, the data you provide, and the actions performed in connected applications and services. Do not use macro8n to access accounts or systems without authorization, collect credentials, send spam, bypass access controls, defraud services, infringe copyright, or run bots that violate laws, third-party rights, or the rules of the platforms involved.

macro8n does not grant permission to access external services and does not guarantee that an automation is allowed by their providers. Read and follow the terms that apply to each integration.

3. Campaigns, configuration, and limits

The application may retrieve a public JSON campaign configuration. It can define visual content, external links, forms, videos, languages, placements, local eligibility based on workflow action types, display frequency, execution limits, and other controls described in the product documentation. Examples may remain disabled, and placements without a valid campaign stay hidden. Content and limits may change when a valid configuration is received.

Sources are tried in the order configured by the product operator. A valid configuration is stored locally; its refresh period can be configured up to 30 days. If the network is unavailable, the app continues with the last valid stored configuration and retries according to its failure policy. The app does not request location, state, or city for campaign targeting; action types are compared locally and are not sent to select ads.

Before loading each sponsored video, the app explains that it is hosted by an external provider and requests explicit permission. That provider may receive the network address and technical connection data needed to deliver the video. If a run requires multiple videos, the interface shows sequence position and estimated total time. Viewing time for embedded players is an estimate while macro8n is visible and in the foreground.

Campaigns may open external addresses or show forms. Form fields are sent only to the configured destination after the user fills them in, sees the consent text, and explicitly submits the form. External destinations have their own policies and technical logs.

4. Local licenses

An optional license is bound to an installation code and validated offline. Its term is 30, 90, 180, or 365 days from issue. While active, it removes commercial ads and sponsored videos and allows unlimited workflow runs until its exact expiration time; it does not guarantee that every automation will succeed. To move to another computer, release the license on the old installation and request a new key for the new installation code. Reissue is manual. Release is local and cannot remotely disable an old copy. Local protections cannot guarantee resistance to software, local-file, or device-clock modification.

5. Optional usage metrics

Daily usage metrics and technical error category counts are recorded and transmitted only when enabled in the public configuration and after the user gives consent in settings. Reports contain a daily pseudonymous identifier, app version, operating system, activity, successful run count, and counts from a fixed list of technical error categories. They do not include error messages, stack traces, crash dumps, projects, content, action types, parameters, credentials, or precise location. Consent can be revoked in settings; pending reports are deleted.

6. AI, MCP, third-party services, and availability

When the user runs an AI action or board assistant, the selected prompt, relevant board context, and any selected image or screen capture are sent to OpenRouter using the user's own API key; the selected model/provider handles that data under its own terms. A configured MCP client can read or edit the local workflow and request its execution. Every MCP execution request requires a visible confirmation in macro8n; cancellation does not start the workflow. If that client uses a remote model, information returned to it may leave the device under that provider's operation. Configured workflow integrations send the data specified by the user to their destinations.

The application may also use public content, images, videos, configured JSON endpoints, and services requested by workflows. These third parties control their own services and data processing. The desktop configuration endpoint supplies JSON; the app does not download or execute arbitrary remote JavaScript. Any future analytics provider integration must be added as a reviewed application feature with a documented data payload. macro8n may be unavailable or incompatible because of network failures, operating systems, external applications, or third-party changes.

The software is provided as available, without a guarantee of uninterrupted operation or compatibility with every external application, subject to rights that cannot be limited by applicable law. Users should keep backups and review automation results.

7. Updates to these terms

These terms may change as features and integrations change. The current version published on this page is the reference version. For product questions, use macro8n's public channels.
